Learning Disabilities: A young boy in kindergarten had been singled out by his teacher as exhibiting warning signs of learning problems.  He still could not write his name on his own, he was six years old.  One day the mother came into the classroom to pick him up early for a family trip to the beach.  When she arrived at the front desk she was told that he was not in the classroom, that he was being privately tested by a psychologist.  The mother quickly got to a telephone and called a Christian Science practitioner explaining the situation briefly and then hanging up the phone.  Shortly after they released her son and they left for the airport. 

This mother quickly made some flash cards with the letters of the alphabet on them.  She would show him the "A," tell him what the letter was called, he would repeat it several times.  She would put the letter asside for a few minutes and then pull it out to show it to him.  He did not remember the letter

STROKE: A woman I was acquainted with was in the hospital and had just left the operating room after having had emergency brain surgery for an aneurysm.  Unfortunately,  in the recovery room it appeared that another aneurysm was in evidence, but the surgeons felt that they could not proceed with a second surgery at that moment.  Divine Science was called upon at that time through a phone call.

In deep prayer the underlying problem was "unearthed" in a Christian Science treatment.  The problem wasn't what the doctors and loved ones were seeing, it had nothing to do with the patient's body. It had to do with a deep and violent conflict between the patient and her husband. 

God speaks to us, if we can just learn to listen.  He is telling us that He created us for good; good plans, good lives.  Not lives of bereavement, death, sadness and fear.  He has promised us good!  God is the ancient Anglo-Saxon term for good, but with a capital G!  He is speaking to each and all of us every moment of every day and night!

Anyway, to get back to the patient that appeared to be in dire straits... 

In the Christian Science treatment the patient's innocency became clear. This woman wasn't a dying, frightened mortal who could be deeply disturbed within her own marriage.  She was innocent!  God had made her and in the Bible it says,

"And God saw all that He made and behold it was very good."

She was not born to suffer and die.  She was not born to be unhappy.  She was not born to leave her two children motherless. She was born of God, good; therefore all she could know was God, good.

She was healed.  Within a week or so she was home and has led a full and happy life raising her two children and going about her business for many years.

I know this sound too fantastic and you may be rolling your eyes as I did when my friend told me about Christian Science healing.  But take it from someone who knows!  Someone who has seen and experienced the healings written at the beginning of this page.
